Piper
April 11, 2024 – Piper and her brother arrived at AGB and both immediately stole the hearts of their forever homes.
Piper’s mom not only expressed immediate interest, but she also made it a point to show up bright and early at the Meet and Greet at Hollywood Food to see her. It was love at first sight, and home together they went. She had this to say about her new sweet addition….. “It was meant to be!!! My son moved out last summer and took his Golden/Labrador retriever mix when he went. I retired in January and started helping to care for my Mother who has Alzheimer’s Dementia. My siblings each have pets in their homes and I saw how Mother interacted with their puppies, so the search was on. My son’s girlfriend told me about AGB (her uncle has adopted from AGB previously) so I completed my application and started getting texts from my Adoption Coordinator Brooke almost immediately. She sent me pics of available orphans and when I saw Piper, I knew she was mine.
We had already talked names, and Piper was the name we all agreed upon, so she was already being called by her forever name!!! She is doing so good with house training (I think some of her accidents are on purpose and aimed at me specifically for not complying to her immediate requests for attention/treats), and she will sit, and lay down and she settled into her kennel at night with very little issues. Working on some recall issues as she is distracted by squirrels, bugs, rocks, sticks, balls, etc. She snuggles with my Mother when she is here and snuggles with me when she isn’t. Piper now has my son and his girlfriend looking into adopting another dog as a companion for their current girl Nola. An absolute success story if there ever was one! Thank you to everyone at AGB. What you do for these pups, not only changes their lives, but those of the adopting families.”
