Shelby

November 9, 2020 – Sweet little Shelby was an owner surrender. After having children, her former owners determined that little ones seemed to make Shelby’s life unbearable. Because they loved Shelby they wanted her to have a better life and asked us to help. A former AGB adopter who recently lost a golden pair adopted from us opened her big heart once again and welcomed Shelby into her life. Shelby is now queen of her castle. Her new mom and Shelby enjoy several walks a day on their property. Shelby loves running to the lake and chasing the herons away. There will be no more munchkins in Shelby’s life anymore, just pure love and attention

I think I was named after that beautiful daughter character in the movie “Steel Magnolias”. My name is Shelby and I’m a beautiful girl myself. I have a gorgeous, velvety fur coat of dark gold, gold and cream. I’m 6 years old and I weigh 49 pounds. I got surrendered to AGB by my broken-hearted former owners who now have a couple of human babies. I’m fonder of other dogs and cats than tiny little munchkins. I’d really rather be in a child free home. Also, I have an aversion to cigarette smoke so I hope I get adopted in a smoke free home. Altogether, I am sweet and mellow and, just like a typical southern girl, I have my share of sass. Of course, I’m house-trained. I know some commands like “come” and “sit” and I’d be happy to have another dog, or even a cat, friend share my life. I am spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heart worm negative. I know someone is out there looking for a wonderful girl like me to call their own. And I’m looking for a lifetime of “wonderful” with you!
