Bogie/Brinkley
September 3, 2020 – There was a family looking all over for a Golden and at the very same time, there was a Golden who was lost and wandering around looking for a family. They both found their way to Adopt A Golden Birmingham. The minute they met, they all knew that they had found what they were looking for. Bogie was still a little nervous, but as soon his new family took him home, Bogie felt safe and knew that this was his forever home. His name is now Brinkley. New Mom says it best: “Brinkley is doing just great with us. He follows us around and really loves playing fetch with his ball. He has his ball in his mouth right now. He is very sweet and just wants to be loved. He enjoys hanging around in the back yard and we are looking forward to taking him on some nice walks and to the dog park but are letting him get comfortable in his new home first. He is very well behaved and has gone outside to do his business from day one. He is very handsome, loving and gentle!” Enjoy your new life Brinkley!

“I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.” You might recognize that quote from the movie Casablanca. Hi there, my name is Bogie and I’ve just been rescued by AGB. I’m around 2 years old, a good looking guy, who has had a bit of a tough road to get here. I was a stray and I started hanging around some nice folks’ property in the hopes of food and attention. They went one step better and called AGB, and I no longer need to wander around, friendless and homeless. My first stop was the vet and the good news is I am heart worm negative, neutered, and they didn’t find any physical concerns. I am also vaccinated and microchipped. I weigh 50 pounds. Overall I am a healthy, happy dog but it does take me a while to warm up to people. I’m a bit skittish until I get to know you then I can be quite affectionate and sometimes I even will sit in someone’s lap if I really like them. Like the character Bogart plays in the movie, up to this point I’ve been a handsome loner so I think I’d rather be adopted by someone without kids and cats; it might be nice to be your one and only in the beginning. But I’m a young boy so, with the right owner who helps me not be anxious, this really could be the “beginning of a beautiful friendship(s)”.
