Hallie
In 2021, Hallie was adopted from Adopt A Golden Birmingham by a couple who had her until the mom passed away recently, and the dad could no longer care for her. Her family decided to surrender her back to us to help her find a new home.
Aside from having packed on a few pounds, Hallie was in great shape. After a short time in foster care, her new mom found her on our Facebook page, and the rest is history.
She says, “ We adopted Hallie (now Waffles) in April. Our dog, Popcorn, had been an only dog since last summer. I was following our local rescues and hadn’t seen a dog yet that jumped out at me. I wasn’t even following Adopt A Golden-Birmingham, but they showed up on my Facebook feed with her photo. One look at her and I knew she was destined to be a part of our family. She looked like a mix of our four other dogs put together. I looked at her bio and, while she was older than we’d normally look for, I knew she was meant to be.
Popcorn and I drove to Birmingham to meet her. I knew I’d be taking her home. She is just the sweetest, and stubborn when she wants to be! She is obsessed with Popcorn and follows her everywhere. They play great and do everything together. She was a bit chunky and has been able to lose 7 pounds so far. We are looking forward to her living a long life with us.”
