Apollo

March 12, 2020 – Apollo, the dog that never quits smiling, is finally at home in Orlando. Apollo was tied to a tree for years before coming to AGB and he was so happy and grateful to be rescued that his other conditions – heart worms and a bum hip – didn’t seem to faze his attitude. AGB treated the heart worms and operated on his hip, which entailed 6 weeks of intensive therapy to get the leg back to full weight again. We are deeply grateful to his foster mom for exercising him up to six times a day, taking him to water therapy, and giving him lots of love while helping him to become a whole dog again. Because of her, Apollo is now able to enjoy his new home with parents who will help him with rehab, including a swimming pool for swim therapy. New parents have this to say: “He REALLY likes being THE DOG in the family. We love him to pieces.” AGB loves you too, Apollo, and keep those smiles warming everyone’s heart.

Original Adoption Post

They’ve given me a name worthy of a Greek god but truthfully, I’m just doggone cute! Hello, I’m Apollo and I’m 7 years old; a cream colored smiling boy that is so happy to be out of the shelter and rescued. I hear I’m going to get a new home with a new family. That sounds just perfect and I can’t wait. In my past life, I was neglected and I was left tied to a tree before I got taken to a shelter. I want to forget about how sad that made me. I’m 53 pounds and I’ve been cured of heart worms. I look younger than my years and I’ve got very cute polka dots on my ears. I’m neutered, vaccinated and, best of all, house trained. I ride well in the car and I get along great with my foster dog friends. I am very sweet and I’m always grinning. And I could stand to be treated like a Greek god for the rest of my life.
