Couple sitting on brown couch with a golden retriever

Beauregard/Arthur

October 4, 2020 – Beauregard came to AGB from GBHS after having eyelid surgery and it didn’t take long for this handsome fella to find a great home in Mobile. New dad says: “It’s been going great! He seems to be adjusting well and is starting to make friends with our cat. We are calling him Arthur and he has responded well to the name change. He is very smart and loves going on walks and playing fetch.” That sounds like a fine way to spend the days! Arthur, with that unique name and personality to fit it, you have a great future ahead!

Original Adoption Post

Bonjour! They named me Beauregard which is French for “fair aspect” or “fine view” but I’m a southern boy from my nose to the tip of my tail. I like the name. I’ve been told that pups named “Beauregard” or “Beau” are the most wonderful fellows! I was found as a stray and taken to a shelter and then AGB came and got me and told me I’m an AGB pup now. I got neutered and had entropion surgery (to correct an inward rolling of the eyelids) in August but I’m really good now. Just having some antibiotic eye ointment applied until that area is fully healed. I’m two years old, weigh 69 pounds, and I’m now neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heart worm negative. They keep telling me I’m very, very sweet but full of energy and just a little rambunctious. I’m basically still a puppy, you know. I guess I need some puppy training by someone terrific who will take the time to get to know me and help me become the most wonderful fellow possible. I’m very smart and I will learn. Something else you need to know about me is that I LOVE peanut butter. Ha, my coat is almost the color of peanut butter, isn’t it? I think I’m quite handsome and I hope you do too. This southern boy is looking forward to some great adventures in his life with someone who loves dogs named Beau(regard).
