September 18, 2020 – When a wonderful and loving couple from out west saw Annie and Casey on Susie’s Senior Dogs, they did what very few people would do. They drove 1200 miles to Birmingham, met and adopted this darling duo, and drove 1200 miles back to New Mexico. They saw dogs that needed a home, knew they needed dogs, and they made it happen! Annie and Casey’s new parents said, “Susie’s Senior Dogs is a miracle organization. It really was their web site that led us to the girls. They traveled extremely well and handled staying in a hotel like a couple of pros! Every day we learn more about them and they learn more about us. At the moment, they are Daddy’s girls until it is time to eat and then suddenly, they want to know where Mom is.” What a wonderful adoption story, and we have so many people to thank! Thank you for the loving foster home, thank you to Susie’s Senior Dogs, and thank you to the new parents of these sisters.

“Sisters are the perfect best friend!” Hi there, my name is Casey. I’m just over 9 years old and I weigh 60 pounds. I’m sticking close to my sister, who is my best friend, while we wait to see what happens next. My owner moved and decided they couldn’t take us with them. I’ve been spayed but it’s good I’m seeing a vet now to get my vaccinations and preventatives. Also, I was diagnosed as heart worm positive so I am going through that treatment. Like Annie, I’m also getting Senior Best Care Treatment and feel lucky that AGB wants us to be as healthy as possible. You can see what a pretty girl I am – Annie is too – with a very nice sweet smile. That’s how they describe us: “sweet and gentle”. I’m crate trained and good with kids and strangers. I’m really wishing that I could be curled up on a nice rug or bed with Annie and spending our senior years with someone that would like two Golden girls to love them.
