Duke
Duke came to AGB from a shelter and is now at home in Florida with former AGB adopters.
His new mom said, “In May 2021 we lost our beautiful golden retriever Rusty. We thought our world had collapsed. There was so much sadness in this house that our neighbors became worried about my husband. It just so happened that one of my neighbors was a good friend of a foster mom of AGB. She sent me a picture of a beautiful, half-golden retriever and Great Pyrenees. We found out that including his foster mom and our home he had had six homes altogether. He started out in Houston, Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama till he wound up with this organization. We knew that he was between seven and eight years old and had some health problems. We couldn’t wait to get our hands on him.
Duke was a beautiful creature and unfortunately, we only had him for close to three years. Again our world was rocked but I knew exactly what I was going to do. I went on to the AGB website and started looking. I couldn’t believe what I saw. There was a great Pyrenees and they had named him Duke. It didn’t take much time for my husband and I to try to adopt him and now he is ours. I think Duke the first was looking down from doggie heaven and saying this is the one.
Please do not be afraid to adopt an older dog, they give you such great comfort. Please take time to read these beautiful creatures stories and if you cannot adopt them, please give to their medical funds. Our first dog that we got from AGB we named Duke of Abbington because that is the street that we live on. This is Duke the second of Abbington. What joy he has brought to our lives.
