Golden retriever sitting outside with mouth open and tongue out

Elroy

October 13, 2022 – Sweet little Elroy came to AGB after he found himself in a shelter. He was heartworm positive and needed medical care and TLC, which he quickly received. Elroy is now Toby, and he’s loving his new life in Montgomery. His mom says he is quiet, good natured, loves car rides, and is quite the Velcro dog. Thank you to our volunteer Tim for fostering this guy while he waited on his forever home.

Original Adoption Post

I’m Elroy, a 2.5-year-old boy, and I weigh about 40 lbs. I was lost and alone and ended up at a shelter who contacted AGB to help me. Luckily for me, AGB sent a wonderful volunteer to get me and took me in. You can tell, I am quite handsome! I am also affectionate, friendly, have never met a stranger, and I walk well on a leash. Being on my own with no medical care was not good for me though, and I have been told I have something called “heartworms.” Heartworms are serious business and had I not been rescued, I may not have survived. But my doctor and AGB friends have told me not to worry. They are giving me all the love, care, and medicine I need to recover and get healthy. In the meantime, while I am getting treatments and taking it easy, the volunteers are working hard to match me with the perfect forever family. Could that be you? If you are interested in me, just submit an adoption application on the AGB website. And if you can make a donation to help with my Vet bill, that would be awesome!
