Ginger
This sweet older girl came to Adopt A Golden Birmingham when her owner could no longer care for her. She was a beloved member of their family, and it was a very difficult decision. She was very well loved. Luckily for Ginger, she continues to be very well loved in her new home.
What a sweet addition this girl has been for her new mom. She says, “What a joy it has been to have received such a heart-swelling gift named Ginger from AGB! After 18 months of losses (my husband of 54 years to dementia and all 3 remaining Goldens in our pack to old age) I found myself for the first time in my life completely alone. Having been a previous adopter of 2 Golden brothers from AGB, I reached out for their help to heal my heart.
A whole team of volunteers moved Heaven and Earth to locate and deliver Miss Ginger to me. What a delightful experience this has been! Ginger has settled in beautifully, though she doesn’t like the Georgia thunderstorms any more than the Alabama ones. She has already hosted a couple of neighborhood play dates and has shown her mom how smart she is by using both paws to shake for treats.
We’ve gone to several restaurants for lunches where she has demonstrated what a great representative she is for Dogs Allowed on Patios! Next on our activities list is training to become a Certified Therapy Dog for our local assisted living facilities, libraries, schools, and rehab centers. Thank you, sweet girl, for making your mom’s life full again!”
