Older man and child sitting on porch with two golden retriever mixes

Happy/Duncan

October 19, 2020 – Happy came to AGB with a big grin on his face, thus the name! He has been adopted to a family with another young dog and two human sisters so he is getting plenty of play time. Happy has been re-named Duncan and Dad says he gets along with other dogs, kids, and is the sweetest, most cooperative dog ever.

Original Adoption Post

Drum roll, please! Let me introduce myself. I am the 1,000th orphan that Adopt A Golden Birmingham has rescued over the years and my name is Happy! So I am a very special pup in a long line of Golden Retrievers and Golden Retriever mixes that are known as AGB alumni. Once you’re an AGB pup, you are loved forever. I was named Happy to reflect my sunny disposition. I am a 6 month old very cute boy; adorable and sweet. I weigh 34 pounds; I’m heart worm negative, vaccinated, and microchipped. I heard them say I’m scheduled for a ‘neuter’; whatever that is. Think I’ll like it? I’ve got some shadings of black fur mixed into my gold so I’m very striking looking. My vet said I have a good temperament and I’m overall healthy. I’m great with people and other dogs. I’m still small enough to be picked up and cuddled. I’m housebroken and crate trained. Good stuff! I know AGB is gonna find me a great home! As the 1,000th orphan of AGB, I get to thank all our donators and adopters for making it possible for AGB to continue to rescue and find homes for great little guys (and gals) like me over the years. Really, thank you so much!
