Knox & Nova

Knox and Nova (now Moose and Penny) were already bonded when they came to Adopt A Golden Birmingham after the owner could no longer give them the attention they needed.  We often have a hard time finding an adopter that will take two pups but we were determined to keep them together.  The perfect adopter saw them on our website and reached out.  

Their new mom says, “Our family is forever changed because of Penny and Moose. One year ago, as we were preparing for the birth of our second little boy, we unexpectedly lost our sweet Golden, Honey. We were heartbroken at the thought of our boys growing up without a dog to love, but also entirely overwhelmed by the thought of training a puppy in this season of life. A dear friend shared their experience of adopting through Adopt A Golden-Birmingham and we realized we could still give our boys that amazing gift, while also becoming home and family for an animal in need. Beth was so kind and encouraging as we navigated the adoption process and ensured us that AGB’s intentionality behind every adoption pairing would lead us to the right dog for our family. 

From the moment we met Knox and Nova, it was very evident that these two were incredibly special. They are gentle, sweet, playful, and have so much love to give. We felt an immediate peace that these dogs were our family. The love and comfort they give each other is precious to witness and we feel like the luckiest family in the world for them to be ours. Our hearts feel full again as we watch Moose play with our sons and Penny sleep right next to the nursery. No matter what is going on in our zoo, they are right there with us. We are so thankful to AGB and Beth and to the foster family, Kip and Karen, who poured so much love into them and us as we navigated their adoption. Our hearts have truly doubled in size!”
