July 23, 2022 – Sweet Lucy made her way to Mobile and has been adopted! Lucy says she loves her new home and her new friend the cat. “First thing I got was a haircut because it’s hot here in Mobile. Mom was so worried about how much fur the groomer took off me, but it will grow back fast. Plus, now I am nice and cool. Yep, one of my favorite spots is now a very lovely white loveseat but it’s a slipcover and Mom says she can wash when needed. I also hang out on the ‘big bed’ sometimes. My new Mom keeps telling me that I’m just the sweetest girl and perfect for the family… and I agree! My Dad finally got to come home from the hospital and he thinks I’m great as well. I believe we will be best buddies because he pats my head a lot and tells me I’m beautiful. Mom says to tell everyone at AGB that her adoption experience was amazing and I believe she has told everyone in Mobile. Hey, she adopted me and I don’t know who is the luckiest but I think it may be me! Thank you again for all your help.”

Hello everyone. I am Lucy, a 10 year old, 68 lb., golden girl. I was found stray several months ago by some very nice people. They took care of me but could not find my owners. They wanted to keep me, but they had a couple of very dominant dogs and it wasn’t the best fit for me. I would probably do well as an only dog, or with more submissive dogs. I love people and, in fact, would be happy to never leave your side. (Especially during thunderstorms, which I don’t care for at all!) I get along well with cats and older kids. I like getting pampered and have no problem getting brushed, groomed and my nails done! I had a cracked tooth which was causing me some trouble, but AGB is getting that taken care of for me. I feel better already! I feel so good, I am ready to find my forever home. I am looking forward to finding people who will welcome me into their family and make me their forever friend. PS… I qualify for the “Senior to Senior” program which will waive my adoption fee for adopters who are 65 or older!
