Neegan

This little boy arrived from a shelter in Shelby County. The poor little guy had been on his own, but thankfully he was found and brought in for rescue. He’s not our “typical” Golden Retriever orphan at Adopt a Golden Birmingham, but he has the golden heart we all love. Unfortunately, he had several serious health issues which needed to be taken care of.  

One of the veterinarians who works with our rescue dogs met him and decided to foster him. She knew he was going to need a lot of medical attention and she was willing to take him to work with her as well as bring him home at night. He took a bit to adjust to other people but he fell in love with his new mom very quickly. He knew he was safe and was going to be taken care of. Pretty soon the entire family fell in love with him and the rest is “foster fail” history.  

Neegan, now “Jamie”, is learning basic commands and he is learning some doggy manners. He is still skittish around strangers but they are working on that as well. His mom says he is a “sweet baby that loves attention from his new family, especially me!”  So thankful that she took him in and gave him all the care he needed to be the precious guy he is.
