Nova & Nugget

Nova and Nugget came to Adopt A Golden Birmingham after their owner could no longer give them the attention they needed.  They had been best buddies for life and were bonded. We knew we needed to keep them together, and we also knew it takes special adopters to take on two dogs at one time.  These girls got lucky when their new mom and dad saw them and decided two were better than one!

Mom Amy writes, “Bill and I previously had a Golden and knew when the time was right, we would search for another one. We reached out to Adopt a Golden Birmingham and were very impressed. The application process was comforting and thoughtful. We were not rushed, and they wanted to make sure we found the right match. A new dog needed to be good around children and elderly grandparents. The dog would need to be good with other dogs, be housetrained, and over four years old. Not only did they find one dog, but they found a pair – Nova and Nugget.  After talking to Beth and to the foster family, we met Nova and Nugget at the end of June, and it was love at first sight. The bonded pair are 5 and 6, perfectly mannered, and bring a lot of joy to our home. They love our four-generation family gatherings and large fenced backyard. We have had several sweet dogs during our 36 years of marriage, but these girls have quickly landed at the top of the list. Nova and Nugget have brought us joy and a good bit of dog feathers, as our grandson calls it. We certainly vacuum more but it is totally worth it. Thank you, Adopt A Golden Birmingham for helping bring these two sweet girls into our famil”
