Professor
January 4, 2024 – On November 19, 2023, Adopt A Golden Birmingham had the opportunity to welcome 14 puppies and their mama to our rescue. They became known as the “Gilligan’s Island” crew (they were all found under a boat) and were quickly taken into foster where they were loved and cared for until they could find their forever homes. Professor was one of these puppies and his story is a love story. His new mom’s love for her dog Luna, who had recently passed, left a hole in her heart that needed filling. The rest is history for her and for Professor (now known as Yeti) and she tells the story the best:
“I want to thank every single person at Adopt A Golden-Birmingham who made this entire process so easy, enjoyable, and exciting. After my Luna crossed the Rainbow Bridge I started looking at adoption agencies on Instagram. I came across Adopt A Golden Birmingham and started following them. I talked to Luna about my next pup and asked her to guide me to the one she wanted me to love. The photos of the pups arrived 25 days after her passing. I messaged what to do to get the process started and that is how Yeti’s journey to me began.
Each conversation with Beth was gentle, kind, and encouraging. The entire process from day one to picking him up to solidifying the adoption, stating ‘Yeti is keeping me’, has been nothing short of magical and perfect. I have shared my experience with everyone who asks me where he came from and seriously rave about your organization. A special thank you to the foster family who was so incredibly kind and so selfless and so giving! Thank you for allowing all of us to invade your home and continue to love the pups that you loved and nourished from day one. My gratitude runs deep for everyone! I cannot thank you enough for all you do! Yeti is home, my heart is full and Luna stops by to play every now and again. I know she had her paw in this from the beginning and I again, thank you all for everything.”
