Wilbur

Wilbur came to Adopt A Golden Birmingham as an owner surrender. He’s a big boy, and they could not handle his size anymore.  Wilbur had a hard time adjusting when he came to us.  He had several behavioral issues that he ended up needing some professional help with.  Anthony Rodriguez of “No Worries Dog Training” took him in to board and train.  With his patience and complete understanding of what Wilbur’s needs were, he was able to make a huge difference in Wilbur’s life and get him ready for adoption.  Along came the adopter that Wilbur had been waiting for.  His new dad drove from Florida several times to meet with Anthony and Wilbur so he would know what his new pup needed.  Now Wilbur is truly home.

His new dad says, “I was immediately drawn to Wilbur’s photos and wanted to meet him. After hearing about his past, it seemed that he just needed the right environment to thrive, and I felt like I could offer that opportunity to him. After our first meet and greet, I knew he was the one for me. From the moment I picked him up, we started bonding. I can tell he is happy and is enjoying life, but ultimately, he has been the biggest blessing in mine. He filled a void that I knew I had, but didn’t realize how large it actually was. I highly recommend adopting. Sure, they may come with some baggage, but it is definitely worth giving them a chance. Offering the right environment, structure, and love can make all the difference to them.”
